It’s rare that I read an interview with somebody famous and think “those are MY kinda people!”   But the Ting Tings have produced that reaction after I read their interview with the Guardian today.  So many things in there that make me laugh and sing and want to be in their band, but I think this comment by the interviewer sums it up:

Maybe they’re tempting fate. Maybe they’ve been away too long, the new album will struggle, and the Ting Tings will go the same way as Dear Eskiimo, Tomkat and TKO. Maybe they’ll look like nobs. Anyway I admire their gall – to so often moot the idea of collapsing a good thing out of sheer bloody stubbornness.

And, yes: I, too, would probably have trashed the demos after the record company execs loved it and said “that fits right in with what’s on radio right now”.
